How To Play Connections

Number of players: 2+

There are multiple ways to play Connections. Here are some ways you can play: 

EVERYONE ANSWERS

Shuffle the deck. Form a draw pile by putting the cards in the center face down. One player picks up a card from the draw pile and answers the question on that card. Then, everyone else answers the question. After everyone has answered the question, the next card is picked up by someone else. Continue playing until all questions have been answered. 

FLIP & PICK

Shuffle the deck. Form a draw pile by putting the cards in the center face down. One person picks up a card from the draw pile and chooses someone to answer the question. After answering the question, that person picks up the next card and chooses someone to answer. Continue playing until all questions have been answered. 

PICK & CHOOSE

Shuffle the deck and deal the cards. The dealer starts the round by playing a card from their hand and then choosing one person to answer the question on their card. After answering the question, the chosen person plays a card from their hand and chooses someone else to answer the question on their card. Continue playing until all questions have been answered.

Refer to our website for more ways to play. Also, here are a few rules to keep in mind:

1. If you’re curious about a person’s answer, ask them to go deep and expand on their answer.
2. Depending on the way you decided to play, fill-in-the-blank question cards should get shuffled back into the draw pile.
3. The [RED] [GOLD] choice word create a variety on certain cards. Choose which word(s) you want to insert in the question.
4. Ask the questions with good intentions and answer them honestly. Honesty and vulnerability are crucial to making meaningful connections.
